Our Roads and Travel

One of the first important things to know about NZ is that road safety is important. Police patrol the roads and will pull you off when speeding or talking on your phone. Banking and Tax
You need a bank account here. You don't need to carry cash in New Zealand. You can pay for most things with a bank card or an app on your mobile phone. Getting a bank account may take time and you will need to visit a bank branch to do so. IRD (Inland Revenue) manages tax and all new people wanting to work here need a tax number.
